All applicants must meet the eligibility guidelines as specified by the Royal Arch Masonic Homes Society to be placed on the waiting list for Royal Arch Masonic Apartments.
The Royal Arch Masonic Homes Society is a non-profit seniors housing organization. We offer independent living rental accommodation to Canadian senior citizens or Landed Immigrants over the age of 65 years. The Royal Arch Masonic Apartments has 75 1-bedroom suites (62 regular and 13 larger suites).
- Single – 65 years or older
- Couple – with at least one member 65 years or older
- Proof of income
- Statement of present accommodation – with two references
- Photo identification
Rental Assistance
Tenants may be able to apply for rental assistance through the Shetler Aid for Elderly Renters (SAFER) program. It is the responsibility of the tenant to apply to the SAFER program for rental assistance.
The SAFER program helps make rents affordable for BC seniors with low to moderate income. SAFER provides monthly payments to subsidize rents for eligible BC residents who are 60 or over and pay rent for their accommodation.
The Royal Arch Masonic Apartment Selection Committee will review all applications and confirm eligibility. Once an applicant’s eligibility has been confirmed, the applicant will be added to the waiting list in order, based on the date the application was received.
In the event you are offered a suite in the Royal Arch Masonic Apartments, you will be required to pay:
- A security (damage) deposit of 50% of one month’s rent.
- A pet deposit if a pet is to reside in the suite. The pet deposit will be 50% of one month’s rent to cover any damage caused by the pet
Royal Arch Masonic Apartments permits one small pet per unit, as outlined in its Pet Policy

Applications are not mailed out. All applicants must make an appointment and meet in person with the Administrator to obtain an application.
